The course will introduce you to a survey of all business areas, including Accounting, Legal, Information Science, Management, Marketing, Economics and Finance. The course is designed to be taken by all beginning students interested in business. It is a core requirement for business majors. This course provides an overview often very helpful in assisting students' selection of a specific career in the field of business. Student Learning Outcomes - understand of the role of business institutions and their relationship to other parts of society.
- describe the economic, social, legal, and governmental environments in which business organizations operate.
- understand the major functional areas of the business organizations including management, marketing, and finance.
- critically analyze practical business problems and utilize critical thinking in the determination of alternative solutions.

This course is designed to examine the leadership skills and abilities needed to manage a multicultural workforce. A primary focus is placed upon the workplace impact of various historical, social, and cultural experiences/perspectives related to gender, age, ethnicity, and disability. Workforce issues related to the diversity of the American consumer and global consumer impact on the United States are analyzed. Student Learning Outcomes - define culture within the context of the United States workplace.

- analyze how language, gender, race, ethnicity, and organizational culture interact to produce an organizational climate.

This course is designed to give you a general overview of marketing principles. The course covers the process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational goals. Elements of the marketing environment such as government regulation, environmental protection, competition, and consumer behavior will be analyzed. Student Learning Outcomes - understand and apply the basic concepts of marketing.
- recognize the function of marketing and be able to apply those functions to various marketing institutions.
- describe and differentiate the difference between uncontrollable variables in marketing.
- recognize various forms of consumer behavior and illustrate how marketing may benefit each group of consumers.
- describe and show the relevance of various major government regulations and the agencies that enforce them.

This course is designed to emphasize the psychology of human relations management. It covers human interaction principles that build confidence, competence, leadership and management plans and positive attitudes in work organizations. Topics include the basis for human behavior, perception, communication, motivation, performance improvement, group behavior, negotiation, ethics and social responsibility. Student Learning Outcomes - apply the theories of human behavior at work and in group dynamics.
